Carlos
Zarate
The founder of Thug, and the newest member to the SweetChilli ranks, Carlos Zarate's music has been influenced from the sleazier side of clubbing. He feels most at ease when the beats are deep, the bass is wobbling, the dance floor is heaving and ofcourse he is in charge. He is a self proclaimed connoisseur of the dark arts of underground music and club culture and he loves the deeper more twisted sides of electronica the kind of stuff that has a nice set of hairy balls, a nasty arse groove and 12inches of class. Kind of like Hannibal Lecter, he eats people but he enjoys going to the opera and having dinner parties.
Carlos expresses himself through dance and often finds himself bobbing rhythmically and generally having an uncanny ability to execute extremely difficult dance moves that would make the good people over at 'Dancing With The Stars' very jealous. His finishing move which is a dance routine is just that, a finishing move and just before he does it you hear this deep voice say "finish him" kinda like Mortal Combat and thats when he pulls out all the stops. This is followed by the deep voice saying "this dance is over" which means, he won the dance off.
He enjoys idle ramblings especially when he is accompanied by alcohol, good friends and a couple of real impressive heads thrown in to spice things up. He likes replacing words in sentances that probably shouldnt be there just to mix it up a little, fruit-salad and also calling his friends names like c*nt, fuck stick, ball bag, flange features and wang head as a sign of affection.
Some things never change like Zarate's twisted sense of humour but some things have. His musical influences of deep house to clicky minimal tech, acid, german techno and brooding tribal beats have seen him support 3 internationals in the last 6 months, namely Paolo Mojo, Petter and Slacker at Sydneys Leading Venues, including Home, Candy's and Civic.
